1.    Overwhelming Response from the European & American Buyers
Ÿ         150 European & American buyers have confirmed attending this July “2008 China International Apparel Trade Fair”
Ÿ         71 buyers from this market are attending for the first time
Ÿ         35 big buyers coming from South America (Argentina, Columbia and Mexico)
 
2.    “Business Opportunity” during “Economy Slowdown”
Ÿ         The slowdown in US economy have resulted many small & medium size US buyers to skip trading companies and contact Chinese suppliers directly in order to lower the cost. Therefore, the “2008 China International Apparel Trade Fair” will become one the focus by these buyers.
Ÿ         US will abolish the import quota in 2009 and this pushes more buyers to begin selecting and screening suppliers in the 2nd half of 2008 in preparation for 2009.
 
3.    Exhibitors - How to prepare for this fair?
There will be many European & American buyers intended to source
directly in this fair. Therefore, in order not to miss any business opportunity
during the fair, exhibitors should prepared more English speaking staffs that
understand the import & export business to man the booth.
 
Successful case - Buyers from South American market that cannot be ignore.
 
There are an increasing numbers of South American buyers whom may not be so well-known but they are very potential in many angles whether it is from buying power or business willingness.
 
For example, during the “International Women’s Apparel & Fashion Accessories Trade Fair” in January 2008, a few merchandisers from one Columbian company traveled half the globe with more than 30 hours flight to Shanghai for the fair. They managed to meet “Dongjing International Import & Export Trading Co., Ltd” and placed order shortly after the meeting.
